School Introduction   Ritsumeikan Junior & Senior High School founded in 1905, implement a continued education starting from grade 7. As a privately funded institution, we focus on the continued secondary and higher education being developed by the cooperation with two universities in Ritsumeikan Academy; Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Oita.  The mission of the school is to facilitate students acquiring strong bases for the higher education, and contributing to the development of our society.   In 2002, the school was designated to one of the Super Science High Schools in Japan, and it has explored the new educational programs focusing on science and mathematics education.

International Education   Programs are actively promoted throughout the school year to encourage students to understand the culture of Japan as well as the histories and cultures of other countries.  These programs include guest lectures, a variety of short and long term exchange programs, all of which include home stay as an important component.  Recently, we have hosted students from US, Canada, Germany, Holland, Korea, France, Thailand, the Philippines and Australia. Our students have traveled to Canada, America, UK, New Zealand, Australia, Germany and Thailand. Through these personal interactions, it is our hope to foster individual friendships and understanding, and ultimately, to improve relationships among countries and regions in the world.
